NATO wants to build a strategic partnership with Russia, the Secretary General of NATO, Anders Fogh Rasmussen, said while opening a plenary session of the NATO summit in Lisbon, RIA Novosti reports.

During the meeting, NATO leaders plan to discuss the strategic concept of NATO, reform of its command structure and the headquarters in Brussels, the project of a territorial missile defense system for the Euro-Atlantic region and inviting Russia to cooperate with NATO in the field of missile defense.
