The Georgian Parliament today approved Temur Yakobashvili, Deputy Prime Minister and State Minister for Reintegration, as Ambassador of Georgia to the United States of America, RBC reports, citing the press service of the Parliament,
Yakobashvili used to live in Israel and is fluent in English and Hebrew. He is considered to be one of the most active negotiators for Georgian-Israeli rapprochement and cooperation, including on arms transfers.
Ekaterina Tkeshelashvili replaced him in the post of State Minister for Reintegration.
