Georgian President to expand the powers of Security Council

Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili intends to expand the powers of the National Security Council. The president has already sent to parliament the amendments to the law on defense planning, according to which the document on the assessment of threats to Georgia will bedeveloped not by the Ministry of Defense, but by the National Security Council, Trend reports, citing the Georgian Parliament.
The change in the law was initiated by the president.
