Russian Deputy Economic Development Minister Sergei Vereschagin has met with the president of Dagestan and its government to summarize the results of his visit, RIA Dagestan reports.
"I haven't had such an informative visit for a long time. The impression is positive. In a week, a final document will be published" Vereschagin said.
The Dagestani president asked to develop a special federal programme of social and economical development of the Republic of Dagestan for 2012-2017. The request has good basis as the republic lacks educational institutions, sports and cultural facilities. "I think Dagestan should have a separate development programme. This request is already under examination" the deputy minister said. Nevertheless he called the experience of the branches of the Development Corporation of the North Caucasus Federal District in the regions negative. Such structures should exist in the regions, but aims should follow the district ones, he said.Tourism development was also discussed at the meeting. The Dagestani president said that mountain skiing can be combined with beach tourism in the republic.
