The maneuvres planned for this May within the framework of the bilateral agreement between Azerbaijan and the US have been delayed, RIA NOVOSTI reports with a link to the press service of the Defense Ministry of Azerbaijan. On the basis of this agreement bilateral manoeuvres entitled "Regional Answer 2009" took place in April, 2009 at company level.
Similar manoeuvres have been planned for this year. The head of the press service of the Defense Ministry, lieutenant-colonel Eldar Sabiroglu reported in his ANS PRESS interview that he did not know the reasons for the delay.
'They are delayed, it is true. I can't comment on it since I don't possess detailed information at this point' - he said.
