Press service of Azerbaijani President denies validity of Wikileaks documents

The Wikileaks website has disseminated materials reflecting "some moments" of meetings held by US officials with foreign heads of state and representatives. The materials mentioned include some thoughts and judgments also connected with a meeting between the President of Azerbaijan and US representatives. “To this end, we state that the thoughts and judgments cited to the President of the Azerbaijan Republic Ilham Aliyev on the website do not at all reflect reality and are absolutely unreasonable. These materials are an open provocation pursuing the aim of undermining Azerbaijan's relations with the neighboring states and sowing mistrust between heads of state. In the lexicon of the President there are no
slangy expressions or the sharp and emotional assessments stated on the website. The Azerbaijani Republic has never interfered in questions of the internal policies of neighbouring states and has always pursued a transparent policy, serving to maintain and develop good-neighbourly relations with the regional states. At all meetings and in statements the President of Azerbaijan has openly stated the thoughts dictated by the national interests. The country`s foreign policy always was independent, stable, logical and sincere,” reads the statement of the press service published on the website of the state news agency AzerTag.
