Russia angry over OSCE document reference to Georgia conflict

Russia will not support OSCE summit documents referring to "the conflict in Georgia," Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said on Wednesday, RIA Novosti reports.

"We are ready...to support the Geneva discussions. But we cannot agree that these discussions are devoted to 'conflicts in Georgia,' as some of our Western partners propose," he said.

He stressed that Abkhazia and South Ossetia are taking part on an equal footing with Georgia in the Geneva discussions on the South Caucasus mediated by Russia, the EU, the United States, the OSCE and the UN.

"There can be no question about Georgia's territorial integrity within its old borders," Lavrov said.
