Interior Ministry personnel fired at in Makhachkala

A gunfight between policemen and an unknown person has taken place on
the outskirts of Makhachkala; according to preliminary information, no
one was killed or injured, RIA Novosti reports, with reference to a
source in the city's law-enforcement agencies.
"On Peter I Avenue, at Makhachkala's city gates, as police workers
were trying to check the documents of a suspicious-looking man, he
opened fire on the policemen and escaped. There are no casualties,"
the agency's source said.
The exchange of fire was confirmed by the press service of Dagestan's
Interior Ministry. Details of the incident are being investigated.
