Mahmoud Abbas meets with Turkish President

The chairman of the Palestinian National Authority (PNA) Mahmoud Abbas
met with Turkish President Abdullah Gul on Monday in Turkey,
the Turkish state television TRT reports.

During the meeting, Abbas briefed Gul on the situation in the region.

Earlier, the head of the Palestinian Authority met with Turkish Prime
Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

During the meeting Erdogan and Abbas discussed such issues as the
peace process in the Middle East, Palestinian relations with the countries of the region and ensuring unity in Palestine.

Mahmoud Abbas attended a ceremony on Monday morning, after which
a convoy organized by the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey  headed to Palestine carrying 67.5 tonnes of textiles.
