Saakashvili demonstrates peaceful Georgian initiatives

Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili has sent official letters to
heads of international organizations to demonstrate the peaceful
initiatives of Georgia concerning Abkhazia and South Ossetia, RIA

reports, citing the president's press-speaker Manana
Mandzhgaladze.


Saakashvili announced his initiative in Strasbourg, speaking at the
European Parliament and at the OSCE summit in Astana. He said that
Georgia will not use force to restore its territorial unity, even if
Russia refuses to withdraw forces from Abkhazia and South Ossetia.
Georgia will only defend 80% of its remaining territories, controlled
by the Georgian government.


The president sent letters to the heads of UN, EU and OSCE, NATO, US
president and the head of the European Commission.
