The committee for international relations and inter-parliamentary
links of Azerbaijani parliament has had a session on approval of the
agreement on strategic partnership and mutual help of Azerbaijan and
Turkey, Trend reports, citing the parliament's press-service.
The agreement was signed between Azerbaijan and Turkey in Istanbul on
August 16, by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Turkish President
Abdullah Gul.
The session held talks about the bill on approval of the declaration
made by the heads of Turkic countries at the 10th summit and on
establishment of the Council for Strategic Partnership between
Azerbaijan and Turkey.
Chairman of the committee Samed Seidov said that the documents
demonstrate expansion of international ties of Azerbaijan.
The committee also noted the importance of approving the agreement on
the state border between Azerbaijan and Russia and the agreement
between the Russian and Azerbaijani governments on rational
exploitations and protection of the sea resources on the trans-border
Samur River.
