Georgian authorities are making provocative acts – Russian Defense Ministry

The Russian Defense Ministry does not want to give an official comment
on accusations by Georgia about it citizens detained in Tbilisi on
suspicion of being behind series of terrorist attacks, supervised by a
Russian military officer, Yevgeny Borisov, RIA Novosti reports, citing
a source in the ministry.

In autumn 2010, Georgia saw a set of explosions, including one near
the US embassy and near the headquarters of the Labor Party. On
December 7, the Deputy Minister of the Interior Eka Zguladze accused
Borisov, who was serving in the Russian peacekeeping forces in Urta
village of Zugdid District, of organizing the terrorist attacks. He is
suspected of organizing, financing the purchase of explosive devices,
and paying for the attacks. Six people were arrested, and two more are
on the wanted list.

The source says that there is no basis to suspect the Russian officers
in the blasts. He said that the information about use of a telephone
registered on the Russian Defense Ministry is foolish, since even
dilettantes know the basics of secrecy.
