The website of the Armenian radio station 'Svoboda' (Freedom) has
posted photos of Zangilan District of Azerbaijan occupied by Armenian
forces. The site says that the district is populated by Syrians and
Armenians. The photos show broken villages and farms overpopulated
with people.
Armenian families that moved to Zangilan say that Armenian government
will support them. Armenians from the Middle East say that they will
stay here even if the government provides no support.
Press-secretary of Armenian minister of foreign affairs Elkhan
Polukhovtold ANS that the evaluation mission of the OSCE for
Nagorno-Karabakh, held in October, checked the facts of illegal
housing.
The French co-chair of the OSCE Minsk Group Bernard Fassier said that
the evaluation mission will conclude its reports in late February. The
mission is currently analysing the information.
The diplomat added that the co-chairs will visit the region in late
January or early February.
The evaluation mission of the OSCE visited the seven district of
Nagorno-Karabakh in the first half of October. Besides the co-chairs,
the mission involved experts from the UN development program and the
Office of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees.
Azerbaijan expects the reports to show the scale of damage, facts of
occupation by Armenia and eviction of hundreds of thousands of
Azerbaijani people.
