Tehran could be included in international energy projects, including
Nabucco, if Iran's nuclear programme is regulated, US special
representative on Eurasian affairs Richard Morningstar said in an
interview with the Russian newspaper 'Kommersant', Interfax reports,
and that if the questions surrounding Tehran's nuclear programme are
finally resolved and its relations with the USA and other countries
are fully normalised, it would be very beneficial for Iran to be a
possible gas supplier for the Nabucco gas pipeline.
However, he added that until this was done the USA did not consider
that Iranian gas should be delivered to any international project. He
also mentioned Iraq and Turkmenistan as potential suppliers.
