Police have opened a criminal case on the illegal tapping of the
Malgobek-Tikhoretsk oil pipeline in the Kursky District in Russia's
Stavropol Territory, where an oil spill occurred on Friday night, RIA
Novosti reports, citing the local police chief, Vasily Kravchenko.
The problem was found at the Malgobek-Tikhoretsk cross-country
pipeline at the 301st kilometer. 20 square meters were covered in oil.
There is no threat to the environment and the nearby villages.
