Russian agencies will no longer be allowed to request documents that
are already available in the databases of other structures from July
1st 2011, the Russian Minister of Communications Igor Shegolev said at
a conference in TechCrunch Moscow, RIA Novosti reports.
The minister believes that this will allow the state services to
become an open platform. The government will a platform of state
applications called "Gospriklad", similar to the Apple App Store
internet-shop.
Shegolev noted that the only opportunity for Russia to provide
electronic government services is using cloud technologies, which will
be freed from taxes. Cloud technologies involve the storage and
processing of data using distribution network resources.
Shegolev said that from 60% to 80% of the Russian population will have
broadband Internet access in 2020.
