Russian president urges all means to be used against inter-ethnic conflicts

Russian President Dmitry Medvedev considers nationalistic hatred especially dangerous and urges the police to use all legal means to prevent civil disorders, RIA Novosti reports.


Manezhnaya Square in the center of Moscow witnessed civil disorders on Saturday. The police say that approximately 5,500 young people were involved, including football fans and nationalists.


Medvedev pointed out that inter-ethnic and religious conflicts are a threat to state stability. He emphasized that he was addressing the General Prosecutor's Office and the Investigation Committee as well.
