Iranian Foreign Minister to resign

The President of Iran, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, has dismissed the Iranian
Foreign Minister, Manouchehr Mottaki, the official website of the head
of the Iranian state reports.

Mottaki has been the head of the Iranian Foreign Ministry since 2005,
RIA Novosti reports.

The head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran, Ali Akbar Salehi,
who is currently the vice-president of Iran, was appointed acting
Foreign Minister.
