Today Makhachkala is hosting the Third Dagestan National Congress, with the participation of 2,921 delegates from various regions and cities of the republic. The forum will be visited by the plenipotentiary presidential envoy in the North Caucasus Federal District, Alexander Khloponin.
The forum was opened by the president of Dagestan, Magomed Magomedov. The anthems of Russia and Dagestan were played. Magomedov congratulated the delegates and the organizational procedure began.
The participants heard the address of the President of the Russian Federation, Dmitry Medvedev. Then president Magomedov took the floor and made the main report. A discussion in which all delegates can participate will take place later.
