Russian Cooperation to establish Russian centers of culture and science in CIS

Major Russian centers of culture and science will be established in all CIS states, head of the Russian Cooperation (federal agency for affairs with the CIS, compatriots living abroad and international humanitarian cooperation) Farit Muhametshin said at the opening of the international forum titled ‘The role of people’s diplomacy in developing international humanitarian cooperation’, RIA Novosti reports.


The organization already has offices in 73 countries and may have 104 in ten years.


The federal agency for affairs with the CIS, compatriots living abroad and international humanitarian cooperation (Russian Cooperation) was established in 2008. It is the successor of the All Union Society for Cultural Relations, which was to celebrate its 85th anniversary in 2010.
