Armenia's ruling party chooses head of ArmRosgazprom to run for mayoral elections

The Republican Party of Armenia has chosen the head of ArmRosgazprom,
Karen Karapetyan, to run for the mayoral elections in Yerevan, Armenia
News reports, referring to its sources in the party.

This decision was taken on Thursday evening at a meeting of the
Council of the RPA.
The post of mayor was left vacant after the former mayor of Yerevan,
Gagik Beglaryan, resigned on the 8th of December in connection with a
controversial incident between him and Aram Kandayanom, an employee of
the Protocol Service of the President of Armenia.
