Russian Foreign Minister denies rumors about visit of Iranian delegation

Russian Minister for Foreign Affairs Sergei Lavrov has not confirmed information about the visit of a special Iranian delegation to Moscow to discuss possible sanctions against Iran.

"I have no information about the intentions of Teheran to send a special delegation to Moscow. We have good relations with Iran and are maintaining diplomatic contacts between the countries", said the minister at a news conference in RIA Novosti.

The situation over Iran's nuclear program became tenser after the statement by Ahmadinejad that Teheran has produced 20% enriched
uranium and has the technology for production of higher-enriched uranium. He has also announced plans to establish production of
low-enriched uranium in the country and has again denied accusations of nuclear weapons development.

Russia believes that this problem should be resolved without imposing sanctions against Iran, though it accepts the fact that Iran's nuclear
program is not transparent enough.
