Medvedev: Reaction to any manifestations of ethnic intolerance will be non-violent

The Federal Security Service (FSB) should identify those who are
 plotting riots and disseminating ethnic and religious hatred,
 President Dmitry Medvedev said.

"Russia as a state is a strong state, a state that has the largest
territory, a country with a strong economy only because of its unity
and cohesion with a multi-ethnic people," Medvedev said today, RIA
Novosti reports.

Medvedev said that the FSB is responsible "for coordinating all
law-enforcement activities of special services aimed at
counter-terrorism.”
