Head of Chechnya urges abandoning such expressions as ‘Caucasian nationality’ and ‘persons of non-Slavic appearance’

The head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, has said that such expressions
as ‘Caucasian nationality’ are insulting and disseminate hatred
against people of other nationalities, Yuga reports.

Ramzan Kadyrov regards the Memorandum on Joint Resistance to Violence,
Extremism and Ethnic Strife and Support for the Peace Process in
Russia, adopted on the 19th of December, as a solution to the chaos of
ethnic hostility in Russia.

In his view, the main task of the government is to unite society in
order to implement detailed national policies in Russia.

“The rapprochement of peoples, the strengthening of friendship -
that's the path that will break the backbone of any nationalism,”
Kadyrov said.
