Azerbaijani parliament urges US Senate to approve ambassador

The Azerbaijani parliament has urged the US Senate to approve the new
ambassador to Azerbaijan, Vice-Speaker Bakhar Muradov said, Trend
reports.

He said that the dragging out of approval of the ambassador will not
affect relations between the two countries.

The US embassy in Azerbaijan has had no head since the terms of Anne
Jersey expired in July last year.

US President Barack Obama proposed the candidature of the co-chair of
the OSCE Minsk Group, Matthew Bryza, to head the US embassy in
Azerbaijan.
