The Russian embassy in Azerbaijan has awarded winners of the ‘Teacher of the year for Russian language and literature’ and ‘Russian language and literature school of the year’ contests, Trend reports.
The contests were organized by the Russian embassy and the Russian Cooperation mission, supported by Azerbaijani Ministry of Education. Over 50 schools of Baku and regions took part in the contest.
The Russian Ambassador Vladimir Dorokhin made an opening speech. He thanked Azerbaijani authorities for providing the necessary conditions for operation of the schools.
He said that the idea to hold the contest belongs to Azerbaijan. The ambassador said that links with the Russian language are a benefit for Azerbaijan.
The contest winners are: middle schools N20, 95, 145 in Baku, classical grammar school N160, humanitarian lyceum at the Slav University of Baku and middle schools N2 in Shamakhy and N8 in Khachmaza.
Winners of the ‘Russian language and literature teacher of the year contest’ are teachers from the middle schools of Baku, Sumgayit, Shamakhy and Ivanovskaya village school.
