Russian President Dmitry Medvedev called a combination of devotion to
the motherland and criticism of its events the basis for a great
Russian future, RIA Novosti reports.
Medvedev awarded orders, medals and ribbons to over 40 citizens,
including spaceman Maksim Surayev, actors Lyudmila Gurchenko and Armen
Dzigarkhanyan, President of the Kurchatov Institute Yevgeny Velikhov
and tennis player Yelena Dementyeva.
