Azerbaijani opposition party plans to hold congress in 2011

Azerbaijani opposition 'Umid' Party plans to hold a congress in 2011, the Party Chairman Igbal Agazade told Trend today. According to him, preparation work for the congress is underway in district organizations.

During the Third Congress held in 2002, the Civil Solidarity Party joined 'Umid' Party and Igbal Agazade was elected chairman.

Other opposition parties such as Musavat and Classic Popular Front Party also plan to hold congresses this year.

Agazade said that Umid party plans to intensify its organizational activity in 2011.

"We have prepared a plan for a new stage of organizational activity, and now discussions are underway on the plan. In the coming days, it will be presented to party members," he said.

Aghazade said that new methods will be applied in organizational activity. "The organizational work is planned in a completely different form. The methods, which have never been applied in Azerbaijan, will be used. However, I will consider the program's publication before approving it," Agazade said.

Umid Party is represented by one MP in the Azerbaijani Parliament.
