Russian President Dmitry Medvedev has visited the new hospital at
Krasnaya Polyana on January 5, ITAR-TASS reports.
The new hospital building has 150 beds, the clinic can receive 100
visitors daily. They were built in the space of two years. The project
was adjusted to allow the village hospital to serve participants of
the 2014 Olympic Games.
According to the International Olympic Committee, the hospital has
orthopaedic, traumatological and surgical facilities, intensive care,
rehabilitation, beam therapy and a specialized laboratory. The complex
has advanced equipment for treatment and diagnostics, including a
magnetic-resonance and a computer for tomography.
Mayor of Sochi Anatoly Pakhomov said that the tomography equipment is
worth 69 million rubles. He clarified that the initial cost of the
equipment was 108 million rubles.
The head doctor of the hospital, Sergey Kornachev, said that the
hospital will see its first patients in late January.
