Student disorders in Ankara

Ankara has experienced clashes between police and students of the
country’s largest higher education centers, such as the Middle East
Technical University, RBK reports.


Approximately 500 students were involved. Some of them came from
Ankara University and the ‘Khadzhettepe’ University.


The students were calling for equality and free education. They
started moving towards the office building of Turkey’s Justice and
Development Party.


There was no permission for the protest. The police ordered the
students to leave. The protestors attempted to break into the office.
The police used water cannons and tear gas. Dozens of police and
ambulance vehicles are at the scene. There is no information on
arrests and injuries yet.
