The International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol) has refused
to assist the authorities in Kyrgyzstan in searching for the Kyrgyz
ex-President, Kurmanbek Bakiyev, his sons Zhanysh and Marat, as well
as the former Prime Minister, Daniyar Usenov, and the former head of
the Kyrgyz security services, Murat Sutalinov, RBC reports.
An official letter addressed by the National Central Bureau of
Interpol to the head of an interdepartmental investigation group of
the General Prosecutor of Kyrgyzstan, M. Rasulov, states that Interpol
has no grounds for launching an investigation and cannot intervene in
the political affairs of any state.
Bakiev was deposed in a revolution in Kyrgyzstan on the 7th of April 2010.
