Iran denies detaining American woman trying to enter Iran from Armenia

The Iranian authorities have denied detaining an American citizen
trying to enter Iran from Armenia, as previously reported by the
Iranian media, the AFP reports, referring to the state television
channel Al-Alam.

The Iranian border police arrested a 55-year-old US citizen, Talaya
Hall, a week ago on the border with Armenia in the village of Norduz.
She was allegedly in possession of "spy equipment or a microphone,
which she kept in her teeth.”

"This American was unable to penetrate into Iran. She went to the
border guards, but because she had no visa, she was not allowed to
pass through. She was immediately sent back to Armenia," Al-Alam
reports, referring to its source in the border police.
