Russia hopes Armenia and Turkey will overcome their current difficulties and create the conditions for the full-scale normalization or ties, a Foreign Ministry spokesman said.
Andrei Nesterenko was speaking after Armenia suspended its ratification of protocols to restore diplomatic relations between the two states.
He said that the restoration of relations between the "two neighbouring states" would "revitalize the political atmosphere" in the region.
The protocols were signed by the Armenian and Turkish foreign ministers in Zurich in 2009.
