Russia does not support Iranian nuclear conference statement

Moscow does not support a document released after an Tehran international conference on disarmament and nuclear non-proliferation, reports RIA Novosti citing Foreign Ministry spokesman Andrei Nesterenko.

The conference was held on April 17-18 under the slogan "Nuclear energy to all countries, nuclear weapons to none."

Russian was represented Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov.
"We consider the final document drafted by the Iranian side following the Tehran conference on disarmament and non-proliferation as nothing more than a resume by its chairman reflecting exclusively his private opinion," Andrei Nesterenko said.

The chairman of the conference was Iranian Minister of Foreign Affairs Manouchehr Mottaki.
