Armenia does not want to leave occupied territories - Azerbaijani president

Azerbaijani President and commander of the country's armed forces Ilham Aliyev held a meeting at the Defense Ministry devoted to the building up of the armed forces on Friday.

"This is the main issue for us, as Azerbaijan land has been under occupation for many long years," he said, APA reports, citing AzTV.

"Armenia and its backers have been especially cruel in the process of occupation," he said. "A clear example of this is the Khojali genocide," he went on, adding that "in spite of four resolutions by the UN Security Council on the liberation of Azerbaijani land, Armenia does not respect this decision."

"The territorial integrity of Azerbaijan is not a matter for discussion," he went on.

He also said that spending on the armed forces had increased more than tenfold in the last 5-6 years.
