Georgian Defense Ministry halts training due to emergency situation

The Georgian Defense Ministry has halted military training due to a
blast at Krtsanisi base that killed 3 and injured 13 servicemen, the
head of the public affairs department of the Georgian Defense Ministry
Salome Makharadze said, Trend reports.


She said that the military police and the general inspection of the
ministry are investigating the case.


Four of the injured servicemen needed urgent surgery. 8 have been
discharged from the central hospital of Rustav. Some were taken to the
military hospital, the director of the hospital, Papuna Bakhtadze
said, Georgia Online reports.


He added that two more servicemen will be discharged today.


Bakhtadze said that four servicemen are in grave condition, two of
them have already had surgery. Two more are having surgery at the
moment.
