Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and US Central Command
(USCENTCOM) General James Mattis have expressed a readiness to fight
against drug trafficking and terrorism in the Central Asian region.
Their partnership was the main topic in their meeting on Tuesday,
Turkmen media report.
Mattis made his first visit to Ashkhabad after his appointment in
CENTCOM. General Mattis is the coordinator of the US military in the
Middle East and Central Asia, ITAR-TASS reports.
Berdimuhamedov said that cooperation with the US is one of the main
goals of Turkmen diplomacy. The president and the USCENTCOM head
expressed readiness to improve the inter-state dialogue.
