Caspian Sea ports could unite into an association

A united session of administrations of ports of Caspian Sea countries took place in Astrakhan on Friday, with the participation of representatives from Russia, Iran, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan, CA-News reports. The Governor of the Astrakhan Region, Alexander Zhilkin, welcomed the guests.

The first session of Caspian port administrators took place last year in Baku. Now the meeting place is Astrakhan. Due to its geographical location, the region is a key member of the North-South corridor . The authorities of the region are trying create economically attractive circumstances for cargo transit of loads by implementing a set of infrastructutral investment projects.
