During the summit of religious leaders which will take place in Baku from April 26th to 28th, Azeri president Ilham Aliyev will welcome Armenian Catholicos Garegin II, 1news.az reports the press secretary of the Saint Echmizdzin bishopric, Vagram Melikyan, saying in a phone conversation with journalists. He underlined that a special meetingbetween Aliev and Garegin would take place.
The Catholicos will also participate in a quadripartite meeting with the Moscow Patriarch, the Georgian Patriarch and the religious leader of Azerbaijan. After the meeting a common agreement on regional problems will be signed.This is the first visit of any Armenian Catholicos to the capital of Azerbaijan, as well as the first meeting of a catholicos and an Azerbaijani president.
