A delegation of the European Commission, headed by Jose Manuel
Barroso, has arrived in Baku. This is the first visit of the head of
the European Commission to Azerbaijan. He is assisted by the EU
Commissioner for Energy Gunther Oettinger, Trend reports.
EU and Azerbaijan will sign deals in various spheres.
Barroso is expected to sign a joint declaration with President Ilham
Aliyev on the South Corridor, the local EU office says. The sides will
also consider the joint declaration on EU-Azerbaijani partnership in
modernization, political and economic reforms in Azerbaijan.
After Baku, Barroso will visit Ashkhabad to meet Turkmen President
Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
