Turkey prepares to host talks between Iran and six world powers

Turkey is taking active steps to eliminate the tension surrounding
Iran's nuclear programme, television channel TRT reports.

Negotiations between Iran and the “5+1” countries, including the five
permanent members of the UN Security Council and Germany, will be held
from January 21-22 in Istanbul.

The previous meeting was held in Geneva from 6-7 December in 2010.
Prior to the official negotiations, Turkish Foreign Minister Davutoglu
will meet in Istanbul with Catherine Ashton, the EU special
representative for External Affairs. This meeting has been
characterized by Iran as "the last chance for the West."
