The Pentagon has refuted information on the US promise to provide Georgia with anti-air and anti-tank defenses, RIA Novosti reports.
Russian media were citing sources in special services and military sphere of Russia about arms worth tens of millions of dollars to be shipped through third countries.
Moreover, such promises were given by the US Deputy Defense Minister for security issues Vershbow and a Republican senator John McCain to Georgy Baramidze, the Georgian Vice-Premier and State Minister for European Integration, during his visit in Washington in late 2010.
