During the annual address to the Armenian Diaspora of the USA, president Barack Obama did not use the word "genocide", calling the events of 1915 a "great tragedy" in Armenian, reports CNN Turk.
"I have not changed my position over the events of 1915 and I believe that history can not be changed. Today is a day when we have to learn from the past. The 'Meds Yeghern' must live on in our memories, just
as it lives on in the hearts of the Armenian people," said Obama.
