Armenia strengthens strategic relations with Russia

2010 saw the further strengthening of strategic relations between
Armenia and Russia, said the Foreign Minister of Armenia, Edward
Nalbandian. "The highlight was the state visit of Russian President
Dmitry Medvedev to Armenia, talks with Armenian President Serzh
Sargsyan, the agreements reached during the visit, and documents
signed," Nalbandian said at a news conference, News-Armenia reports.

During the state visit of Medvedev to Armenia from August 19-21
several important documents were signed, including the protocol for an
extension of stay of the Russian military base in Gyumri up to 49
years.
