The SouthOssetian parliament has passed a law on state borders in the
second reading, IA 'Res' reports. The discussions were initiated by
the head of the committee on defense and security, Erik Dudayty. The
head of the border department of the KGB of the republic, Sergey
Kolbin, was also at the session.
Dudayty presented the amendments to the law. According to the law,
border control will be carried out throughout the perimeter of the
border and near the territory of the South Ossetia, within 1 km.
Deputy Marina Dzigoyeva believes that the 1 km distance will create
problems for locals whose lands and houses are in the area.
