Georgian President Mikhail Saakashvili named new members of the
Cabinet and announced structural changes, Georgia Online reports.
The Georgian Ministry of Economic Development has been renamed the
Ministry of Economy and Stable Development and will be headed by Vera
Kobaliya, replacing Zurab Popolikashvili.
The head of the Georgian roads department, Ramaz Nikolaishvili, will
replace the Minister of Regional Management and Infrastructure, Daviad
Tkeshelashvili, who was appointed the head of the presidential
administration with Irma Nadirashvili as his assistant.
The department of youth and sports is no longer subject to the
Ministry of Culture and will become a separate ministry, headed by its
former chief, Shida Kartli Lado Vardzelashvili.
The new deputy foreign minister is Torkin Gordadze, who will head the
European branch of the Foreign Ministry.
The former head of the presidential administration, Temur Janashia,
will head the State Security Service.
