Iran now has four Ghadir class submarines, says Press TV. Iran now has 7 vessels capable of holding anti-warcraft rockets. The Ghadir subs' main purpose is to carry troops and work in shallow waters, like the Persian Gulf.
Iran also plans to obtain Qaem class submarines soon. These subs specialize in long distance voyages.
