Armenia criticizes the resolution of the European Parliament

All the political forces of Armenia have expressed a negative attitude to the resolution of the European parliament on solving the conflicts in the region, as it contradicts the process of a peaceful resolution of the Karabakh conflict, RIA Novosti reports.

As reported earlier, the European resolution called for withdrawal of Armenian troops fron the territory of Azerbaijan.

Edvard Nalbandyan, the head of Armenia's Foreign Ministry, has said that the resolution does not answer the Madrid principles nor the statement of Aquila nor the Moscow declaration. He thinks that even the position of the EU itself has been broken. This position had been expressed in Athens in 2009 and coincided with the position of Armenia.

An official letter of protest has been sent to the European Parliament.
