49 dead in disturbances in Kyrgyzstan

According to the data of the Ministry of Health of Kyrgyzstan, 49
people had died in the disturbances in the country by 8 am local time,
Interfax reports.

423 have been hospitalised, 654 have asked for medical help.

The temporary government of Kyrgyzstan has asked the UN to introduce peacemaking forces to the Osh region to prevent further victims. Felix Kulov, the ex-premier of the republic, says that it is not yet clearif troops from the Collective Security Treaty Organisation or from the
UN will be introduced.

Thousands of people have headed to the Kyrgyz-Uzbek border asking for refuge.
