Azerbaijan ready to open borders with Armenia if Armenia withdraws troops

Armenia should react to the proposal of the presidents of the Minsk OSCE group on the Karabakh question, the president of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev said after his talks with Turkish prime minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Turan reports. This would involve withdrawal of Armenian troops from Azeri territory, he says. If Armenia does so, Azerbaijan will open its borders.

For his part, Erdogan said that Turkey would not open its boundaries with Armenia until troops are withdrawn from Nagorno-Karabakh.
